Early in her high school years Daleesa knew she would be involved in the beauty & fashion industry. Born of a father who ran a successful business and a mother who worked in the cosmetology industry, it was only a matter of time for her passion to flourish. Tapping into the modeling profession (San Francisco, mid 80's) revealed both the positive and negative aspects of such career. Careful reconsideration directed her interests towards working 'behind-the-scenes' instead of in front of the camera.
Daleesa held her first cosmetology license in 1989 and now possesses licenses in 3 states (NY, NJ and OR). She continues to fine tune her skills through discipline, ongoing education, and hands-on experiences. In addition to working part-time in a salon, Daleesa also does hairstyling for photo shoots, commercials, events and wedding parties. In 2007, Daleesa relocated from the west coast to the NYC metro area. Her move was a vital step in her career and has helped expand her talent capabilities.
Daleesa is consistently adding to her list of satisfied salon clients. She cares about how her clients look and feel and is honest with her recommendations. It is a priority for her to educate her clients on how to recreate their look at home. The most satisfying aspect of her salon involvement is when her clients leave feeling better about themselves physically, emotionally and even spiritually.
Some of Daleesa's work has been published in magazines such as Runway, Future Claw, Model Plus, Cosmopolitan, Seventeen, Marie Claire and Oprah. Her work has also appeared on some covers of Harlequin Romance Novels. She has worked for events such as Blackberry Bold Launch Party (NYC), Latina Magazine 'Girls Day Out' (NYC), IMTA (NYC), Bridal Fashion Week: Clair Pettibone Spring 2010 (NYC), Avon/Cosmo Frizz-Free Revolution Tour 2010 (Philly & NYC) as well as other events and fashion shows.
